La ditta Ottaviani, oltre ad aver realizzato le medaglie per i vincitori (364 medaglie d'oro, 364 medaglie d'argento e 364 medaglie di bronzo, per le premiazioni dei Giochi Olimpici e 220 medaglie  rispettivamente d'oro, d'argento e di bronzo per le premiazioni dei Giochi Paralimpici), venne incaricata anche di realizzare le medaglie per i partecipanti, così suddivise: circa 4.500 medaglie d'argento per gli atleti Olimpici e 1.300 d'argento per gli atleti Paralimpici; 25.000 medaglie di bronzo per i volontati ei collaboratori dei Giochi Olimpici e circa 2.000 per i volontari e collaboratori dei Giochi Paralimpici. Inoltre, il 16 febbraio 2006, durante lo svolgimento dei Giochi, il Comitato Organizzatore decise di far realizzare 106 medaglie (dello stesso tipo di quelle degli atleti edei volontari) con una placatura d'oro, per donarle ai Vip presenti in quei gioni a Torino (membri del CIO, Presidenti dei Comitati Olimpici e Presidenti delle Federazioni Internazonali). La placatura delle medaglie venne affidata, con una lettera ufficiale a firma del Presidente Castellani, ad un laboratorio orafo di Torino.
Vennero anche previste 750 medaglie di partecipazione alla 118a Assemblea Generale del CIO, programmata a Torino prima dell' inizio dei Giochi.

The company "OTTAVIANI", as well as producing the medals for the winners (364 gold, 364 silver and 364 bronze medals for the Olympic Games and 220 gold, silver and bronze medals for the Paralympic Games), was also commissioned to produce the medals for the participants. These were divided as follows: approximately 4,500 silver medals for Olympic athletes and 1,300 silver medals for Paralympic athletes; 25,000 bronze medals for volunteers and collaborators of the Olympic Games and approximately 2,000 for volunteers and collaborators of the Paralympic Games. Furthermore, on 16 February 2006, during the Games, the Organising Committee decided to have 106 medals made (of the same type as those of the athletes and volunteers) with gold plating, to be given to the VIPs present in Turin at the time (IOC members, Presidents of the Olympic Committees and Presidents of the International Federations). An official letter signed by President Castellani entrusted the plating of the medals to a goldsmith's workshop in Turin.
750 participation medals were also planned for the 118th IOC General Assembly, which was scheduled to take place in Turin before the Games began.
